Email us for more information on the Seramas pictured below.

Seramas are tiny bantam chickens with attitude. Though "cocky" the boys are generally good-natured and should never be aggressive. Seramas are super cute, make fantastic pets, and they come in lots of colors and three feather types: smooth, frizzle and silkied.

The Serama is the smallest breed of chicken in the world. They originated in Malaysia, where they are the number one pet. However, size alone does not define a Serama. A small chicken without the Serama "type" is not a Serama, but just another small bantam. Originally there were three size groups A, B and C. Recently it was decided to discontinue use of that designation because it can be misleading, weight doesn't always correspond with size..

We do NOT sell small, young Serama chicks, they are way too tiny to be stressed by shipping. We raise them to about 3-4 months so we can determine quality and make sure they have a good start.

We strive to raise show quality Seramas but often have pet quality that don't quite meet the strict standard of perfection. Our prices start at $25 for males and $40 for females. Breeder/Show quality will be higher. We prefer to sell only in pairs, otherwise we will end up with a lot more males than females.

Our flock is registered by the Texas Animal Health Commission, and is PT tested by the state, a requirement to sell poultry in Texas. We are also in the National Poultry Improvement Program.

When picking up birds, please bring boxes/kennels/crates and please do not wear clothing or shoes that were worn while caring for other poultry/fowl. Our flock is tested Pullorum-Typhoid negative and we want to keep it that way.

We can also ship if the weather and state requirements permit. Please check your weather forecasts and your state's requirements before planning to purchase. It gets hot in Texas pretty early so we have a limited shipping window. Seldom do we ship when temps are over 90 degrees. In Texas we are not required to be AI tested to be in the National Poultry Improvement Program (NPIP) so be aware of YOUR state's requirements.

We like to ship early in the week, preferably on Tuesday. This gives your birds a chance to arrive safely and lessens the chance of being stuck in the Post Office over a weekend.
You will need to plan to pick them up at your post office. We will write your phone number on the box and they will call you when they arrive. It typically takes 1-3 days to ship birds. Though we ship express, the PO does not guarantee one day shipping on live birds. Depending on how close you live to a major airport or post office hub will determine the time it takes.

We can fit a pair and sometimes a trio in one box. The special shipping boxes cost $12. We prefer to use the FeatherEx brand. The postage depends on destination and weight. Average shipping cost is $45-60.

We accept Paypal payments made using the Family and Friends option. Our Paypal email is texastunis@yahoo.com.

SHIPPING NOTE: Limited Shipping Available - As temperatures permit

Sold out except for a few pets, pickup or meet in Texas only at this time.
